Why Choose Me?

Why choose me?

Tailored to you… Working together I will honour you as a client. It’s your problem, it’s your solution. It’s a partnership. I have been trained to the highest standard with consideration to how expectation and my own beliefs systems could contaminate your therapy. That’s why our sessions are tailored. It’s not a one-size-fits-all approach whereas I have pre-determined how many sessions it will take to reach your goal. It’s a partnership and our sessions will be interesting, enlightening and empowering.

You’re in control… If you’ve become stuck with a habit (e.g. smoking, nail-biting, over-eating), or you can’t overcome negative feelings this approach will help you to find inside of you everything you need to gain control. As we work through your issue, I will make recommendations on how to progress, but will not prescribe a certain amount of sessions. Expectation plays such an important part in therapy that if I expect it will take five sessions, it probably will. When you’re happy you’ve reached your goal for therapy, we’ll both be very pleased!

Modern… Cognitive Hypnotherapists work from an understanding of the mind and of the mind-body connection that is based on modern neuroscience. I also use insights and tools from a wide range of psychological and therapeutic disciplines, including NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and Positive Psychology. This means I can design a programme specifically suited to your needs and wishes.

Professional and ethical… The National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH) to which I belong, promotes and implements the highest standards of training, practice and professional ethics.

Scientific backing… In common with hypnotherapy in general, Cognitive Hypnotherapy has two ringing endorsements — the first is from the reputable consumer organisation “Which?”:

“Hypnotherapy is supported by more scientific research than any other complementary therapy”. The Which? Guide to Complementary Therapies, 2002.

Secondly, the British Medical Association has recognised the validity of hypnosis as a therapeutic intervention since 1955.
